Within the DevExpress application we can create records such as Invoices, Purchase Orders or Credit Notes. We required the ability to print and/or export these using a predefined template so that it will be simple for a user to click a single action from within the DevExpress application and the Invoice, Purchase Order or Credit Note will be generated using the relevant template and printed, following the same consistent style each time.

DevExpress by default gives you the functionality within the Model to group list views together based on a selected field. This will group the records together based on the selected field and show a count of records within the Group Header as seen in the screenshot below.

Usually when creating XtraReports via the XtraReports designer at runtime the standard Filter String functionality within the report properties is sufficient to filter the report and give the data required. The Filter String functionality within the designer is limited and for some scenarios it has been necessary for us to the leave the Filter String blank and filter the XtraReport via a script. See how we achieved this.
