Description

The South Holland Business Awards event has grown in size over the previous 4 years and the Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce were interest in expanding on the single page coverage of the event on their own Chamber website to provide a dedicated and more professional looking website with a modern and look and feel to really showcase the event with a view to gaining more interest from the local community, and ultimately increasing the attendance at the awards night itself.

PSP wanted to pledge support to the South Holland Business Awards 2016. Not only do PSP want to help drive up the attendance and the number of award applications, but PSP also want to make it a memorable night. As headline sponsor PSP are passionate about supporting our local business community and the Chamber of Commerce events team who are organising the awards.

Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce required the following:

  • Fresh new standalone website dedicated to the business awards
  • Responsive website design to enable users to access on any device, including phone and tablet
  • Details of all the awards, sponsors and previous year’s winners
  • Maximisation of table bookings, award sponsorship, award categories and nominations

PSP designed and built a smooth finished site showcasing the South Holland Business Awards, providing extensive details on the nature of the awards, the award categories and all event sponsors. It was also important to ensure there was plenty of exposure on the previous years’ winners to help local businesses maximise publicity of their tremendous achievements.

PSP also created a downloadable application form for entry into the awards themselves to provide businesses in the local area an easy route to apply and increase the number of applications for each individual award. In addition PSP also created a downloadable booking form to enable businesses to book tables or reserve seats at the awards with the view to increasing the turnout, and ultimately enjoy greater exposure for all those involved in this growing annual event.

The landing page of the website offers users with the chance to view a slideshow of images taken at the 2015 awards night to give a real feel to the local businesses of what to expect at the forthcoming event. Images covered everything from the decoration of the room, the fantastic catering offering and, most importantly, the winners and attendees themselves.

The site was developed to be user friendly and is easy to navigate around, offering visitors a better experience and allowing them to easily access the information they are looking for.

Benefits

The key benefits for launching the new site include:

  • Showcase the event, increase exposure
  • Increase traffic to maximise table bookings and event/award sponsorship
  • Increased interest in award nominations with downloadable application form
  • Professional look and feel
  • Responsive web design providing users with a more flexible approach to viewing the site on a range of devices, including phones and tablets

Phil Scarlett, President of Spalding and District Area Chamber, said the new website was essential as the awards have become more popular since launching in 2012.

“Last year’s awards were great, but this year we are planning further improvements. Businesses will see a big change in 2016.

“The biggest improvement is a new website www.shb-awards.co.uk, which has been built by this year’s headline sponsor PSP IT Design & Development, based in Pinchbeck, Spalding.

“The website offers a wealth of new information. As well as insights into previous winners, it also offers downloadable application forms, hint and tips about what the judges are looking for, plus sponsorship opportunities for local firms and the chance to buy tickets to the ceremony in November”.
