After several meetings and scoping sessions PSP demonstrated the reporting module of their very own flagship VISION CRM/MIS platform showcasing VISION’s ease of use, speed, access to information and visibility across the entire business. Most importantly was the flexibility to be able to report on any data held within the database, together with the relative low cost to extend the suite of system reports once the initial platform had been implemented. Following this it was decided that VISION would be a suitable platform for Trinity’s vast reporting needs due to its ability to query the extensive data held within the SQL database using a range of filters and parameters to interrogate the data in a variety of instances. The final stage of scoping was concerned with understanding how any newly-identified reporting requirements could be addressed between the new VISION system and the existing systems in place.
Following discussions the solution agreed was to create a dedicated VISION-Reporting application to be used specifically as a reporting tool for the data stored in the current METIS and VENU applications, including enhancements to the existing systems to allow for additional layers of reporting, flexibility to classify clients and prospects for more precise reporting and greater visibility to identify the biggest contributors. The improved reporting functionality would also allow Trinity to focus on maximising opportunities through ‘smarter’ commercial-buying activity by making the most of greater economies of scale and ensuring commercial targets are met to maximise potential commissions through supplier reward and commission-override agreements. To meet these objectives the following requirements were identified:
- Enhancements to the METIS spend management portal to capture the additional information required from clients
- Enhancements to the internal booking and proposal system including new fields to store new information captured and to allow Trinity to classify clients at various ‘prospect’ levels
- Creation of the VISION-Reporting application to provide the functionality to report on the new data being captured
- Ability to report by Revenue Stream, Desk, Client, Prospect Type, Category and internal Booking Agent
